AP DIVING - A message to all divers concerning the developing COVID-19 situation
AP Diving – the factory, office and website – is currently operating as normal, with some staff working remotely.
From discussions with NHS and Government staff and Faber in Italy, there is expected to be a shortage of oxygen cylinders.
The idea is that divers are ideally placed to help here and every diver can do his bit. Take your open circuit SCUBA systems to your local dive shop and get them, and associated valves, oxygen cleaned and ready for oxygen service and filled. It is recommended to do this now and not delay.
The oxygen suppliers can swap full cylinders for empty ones, what they cannot do is supply extra cylinders.
We all know that the first aid oxygen kits have a limited capability due to the size of the cylinder so we have produced an adaptor for converting the DIN outlet of SCUBA cylinders (232 bar DIN) to the industry standard medical oxygen yoke (O2 PIN INDEX). [Product Code: SCUBA2MED1].

Note: the DIN thread on the new SCUBA2MED1 is standard air cylinder 5/8” BSP male. We will also be making an M26 EURO standard O2 cylinder thread version to follow. [Please call us if you require an M26 version on 01326 561 040. Please note we also sell M26 to 5/8 converters (Code: AP8N) https://www.apdiving.com/…/m26-male-5-8 ... e-cylinder… ]
The production has only just started, so stocks are limited but we are producing these on automatic 24/7 machines, so get your order in and we will supply in strict order.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: All SCUBA cylinders and cylinder valves MUST BE professionally OXYGEN CLEANED PRIOR TO FILLING, take them to a dive centre for proper oxygen clean preparation.
When the virus disappears at least you’ll have a Nitrox ready system. KEEP SAFE everyone
